Motivational Interviewing utilises collaborative conversational skills to draw on and influence people’s own motivation to change their behaviour for better health and wellbeing.


Healthy Dialogues offers a 1 full-day training for frontline professionals to learn the theoretical underpinnings of Motivational Interviewing and develop the skills to facilitate behaviour change conversations.


Who the course is for:

Health and care professionals who work with patients in 1:1 settings and wish to become proficient in motivational interviewing.


By the end of the course practitioners can:

  • Introduce difficult conversations and engage with clients confidently
  • Recognise, explore and respond to client dilemmas and ambivalence
  • Support service users to overcome obstacles and make and maintain positive behaviour changes for health


This training is delivered using quizzes, trainer demonstrations, videos and simulation learning.


The course is delivered by chartered and practitioner Health Psychologists with expertise in training frontline staff on behaviour change.
